Special Interest Clubs

" Life is like a ten-speed bike. Most of us have gears we never use." Charles M. Schulz

Life is a process of discovery. At the RIGI Schools, the innate proficiency of a child in a specific field is given every opportunity to develop. A number of special interest clubs act as the catalysts for growth in the child's area of interest.

Interact Clubs: Children interact with their peer groups and find a forum for a healthy exchange of ideas and views on various issues.

Science Model Clubs: For those students with a scientific bent of mind, this club provides opportunities for experimentation, observation and analysis that go beyond the classroom.
Science and Math Olympiad: This is a series of examinations conducted for the students at the national level so that they can compete with the best minds of the country.

Shakespeare Society: For the literary-minded, the Shakespeare Society produces and directs some of the greatest English literary works, apart from doing a detailed study of them. The experience develops confidence in the child and removes any vestige of stage fear that the child might have.

Model Kids' Parliament: This club helps students understand how a democracy works. The children simulate the two Houses of the Parliament and carry out mock sessions including Question Hours and Zero Hour. What might be a dry topic from the Civics textbook suddenly comes alive.

Model UN: For better understanding of the international scenario and of how the United Nations helps in maintaining international peace and harmony, the students conduct mock UN sessions with groups of them representing various countries. They address issues of international importance for a better tomorrow.

Music Club: Children can develop their musical and creative talents with facilities provided for Western, Indian Instrumental and Vocal Music
Adventure Club: For the more outgoing students, this club makes arrangements for trekking, hiking, rock climbing etc and exposes them to the challenging side of nature.

Language Club: Here the students can enhance their skills in English, Hindi, Sanskrit, French, etc. by availing of a host of opportunities in the form of books, discussions, plays, talks etc.
Chess Club: The club teaches students the finer points of the game and organises inter-school competitions where they can improve their skills by matching their wits against worthy rivals
Kalidas Hindi Drama Society: Like the Shakespeare Society, this club provides similar opportunities in drama and literary development in the Hindi language.

Debates and Oration Club: This is a good platform for the children to develop confidence and the courage to face a crowd. The students are encouraged to speak on and discuss a variety of topics and exchange views and ideas.

Accelerated Reading: For those students who are much ahead of their peer group, this club provides facilities for higher reading levels so that their reading skills are honed.
Latent Talent Programme: This programme is specially designed to tap the potential of gifted children. They are given the opportunities that they would normally be denied while interacting with their average peer group.
