Ryanites at the Future
World Leaders Summit

22 students from Ryan International
Schools, India, returned to India after successfully
participating in the Future World Leaders Summit,
held at the prestigious George Town University,
Washington D.C., USA. The summit was held from
10th to 17th July 2004.
The Presidential Classroom is
a prestigious programme, which is attended by
selected students from all over the world. Presidential
Classrooms provides the next generation of civic
leaders with extraordinary academic and leadership
development skills. Many Presidential Classroom
scholars mark their week in Washington as a turning
point in search for their future role in the society.
This year the summit had about
500 participants from 41 countries. The delegates
had the opportunity to visit the White House,
Capitol Hill and other places of historical importance.
They also visited various Embassies and interacted
with dignitaries from the World Bank, Diplomats,
Senators and Eminent Personalities. The Ryanites
captivated the audience with their country presentation.
The Director of the Group of Schools, Mrs. Grace
Pinto was invited as the Special Guest for the
closing session and was specially honored for
her contribution to the Future World Leaders Summit.
The Ryanites also had a one
to one with the honourable President of India,
Shri A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on 6th July before embarking
on this prestigious tour. The President blessed
the students and asked them to be 'Enlightened
Citizens' and be proud of their country.
Ryan International Schools in
India were the pioneers in sending students to
this Summit, and have been successfully participating
since 2002. This year Ryan's incorporated
students from four other schools of India.
The students greatly appreciated
the initiative role of their Chairman Dr. A. F.
Pinto who is the motivating force and owe their
success to him.
The delegation was led by Ms.
Snehal Pinto, Administrator - Ryan International
Schools, India who had been invited as instructors
for this Programme.
The Indian delegates returned
to India after a successful tour highly motivated
to take up the leadership role in their society.
